RULES & REGULATIONS
WARNING: MOTOR SPORT IS DANGEROUS – ANY ONE ENTERING THE FIELD & ARE PRESENT AT ANY GRASS TRACK MEETING, ENTER AT THEIR OWN RISK
Admission is subject to the condition that all persons having connection with the promotion and/or conduct of race meetings, including owners of land, owners of vehicles, officers, or any other persons attending events with the club’s permission are absolved from any liability in respect of property, of whatsoever nature and howsoever caused whether by reasons of negligence or otherwise
FLAG SIGNALS:
Green Flag: START / GO
Yellow Flag: CAUTION AHEAD
Red Flag: SLOW & STOP, SERIOUS SITUATION
Black Flag (Rolled): WARNING
Black Flag (Open): EXIT RACE IMMEDIATELY
Chequered Flag: FINISH
FOR REASONS OF HEALTH & SAFETY:
•CHILDREN ARE TO BE ACCOMPAINED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES
•ALL PETS TO BE KEPT ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES
•RUBBISH BAGS ARE PROVIDED FOR LITTER – PLEASE USE THEM
•THE USE OF OFF-ROAD MOTORCYCLES & QUAD BIKES IS PROHIBATED ON RACEWAY GROUNDS
This is a FUN Hobby/Sport and will be treated as such with Rules & Regulations that MUST be obeyed for reason of Safety
In the event of Violence or any Disturbances, the Police may/will be called to deal with the incident
GENERAL RULES:
The speed limit is 5 mph on ALL of Henham Raceway grounds – this is to be abided by for safety reasons.
Membership Licences MUST be worn or be carried by the driver at ALL times while on Henham Raceway grounds during a race day.
All members must ensure their family &/or pit crew are fully aware of the Henham Raceway Rules & Regulations.
Drivers are held responsible for the actions & behaviour of their family &/or pit crew whilst on Henham Raceway grounds.
Parents & Guardians are responsible for their children & will be liable for any damage caused, by them, & any cost incurred.
ALL vehicles are parked in the Pit Area entirely at the owner’s risk. Henham Raceway will not be held responsible for any damage or theft incurred.
Drinking of alcohol by members on Henham Raceway grounds is NOT allowed & will result in members NOT being allowed to race.
The taking of any illegal substances at Henham Raceway will not be tolerated & will be reported to the Police, if necessary.
Threatening behaviour or Acts of violence towards any officials, marshals, staff or members of Henham Raceway will not be tolerated & if need be, Police will be called to the incident.
No stripping of any racing car(s) is permitted on Henham Raceway grounds. Racing cars should be brought to the track already prepared allowing for minor alterations or preparation.
Inside of racing car(s) must be clear of any excess glass, loose material or other debris created from the preparation of the vehicle.
If a driver is banned for any reason, the Raceway is NOT obliged to return entry fee or membership fees.
ALL drivers are to have their car(s) scrutinised prior to any participation of the racing. This will normally be carried out on the centre green of the track.
Scrutinising will end 30 mins before racing (generally by 12.00 mid-day). Latecomers’ car(s) will be scrutinised at Henham Raceways discretion.
ALL drivers are to attend the ‘Drivers Meeting’ which is held after Scrutinising (generally at 12.00 mid-day), outside the Raceway office.
NO sharing of cars in the same formula is permitted. One car per driver, per Formula ONLY.
Drivers may be held responsible for any damage caused by a wheel coming off their car.
No race vehicle(s) are to enter any of the public areas or to wander off Henham Raceway grounds; they must stay within the Pit Area, only.
Drivers must obey instructions issued by any official, marshal or member of staff of Henham Raceway.
Drivers must obey flags at all times during racing & take the appropriate action(s) as stated against the Flag Signals at the front of this book.
All limbs of drivers are to be covered by appropriate overalls of NON-NYLON material while racing.
Crash Helmets MUST be BSI Approved & have the appropriate ‘Kite’ marking. A Crash Helmet & appropriate eye protection MUST be worn while racing.
Inappropriate safety equipment such as Helmets &/or Overalls will result in the driver not being allowed to race.
Crash Helmets are to remain on at all times until a place of safety has been reached, or racing has been confirmed as finished.
Drivers will be given 3 minutes to get on to the track for there formula’s race, using the proper track entrance only (not the exit). Late comers will miss that race.
Drivers are to enter the track ONLY through the entrance gate. At no time is this gate to be used as an exit.
Drivers are to exit the track ONLY through the exit gate. At no time is this gate to be used as an entrance.
At ALL times while drivers are on the track during racing, ALL limbs must remain inside the car.
If a driver’s car breaks down or is unable to continue racing, during a race, the driver is to remain in the car or choose to exit, when they feel it is safe enough to do so. They must either retreat to a safe distance behind the track fencing on the outside, or to the centre of the track, again a safe distance from the track edge.
Cars with punctured tyres, the driver may receive a Black Flag.
If a race has to be stopped, the driver(s) who were the cause of the stoppage will NOT be allowed to re-enter that race.
Damage to vehicles caused during racing is to be repaired between races, &/or between meetings.
All cars & any wheels, tyres, exhausts and any other parts from driver’s car(s) must be removed from Henham Raceway at the end of each meeting.
All rubbish & litter is to be placed in the litter bins & bags which are provided by Henham Raceway.
In ANY event if a driver wishes to make a complaint or challenge a discussion made by representatives of Henham Raceway, this MUST be done via the commentary box, who will call the relevant official(s).
NO FIRES are to be lit.
The use of Quad Bikes, Motorbikes, or any other off-road vehicle is strictly prohibited anywhere on Henham Raceway grounds, at ALL times on a race day.
